In April 2004, Hispanic Contractors of Colorado (HCC) partnered with Pinnacol Assurance to launch a group Workers’ Compensation Program which strives to minimize workers’ compensation costs for companies enrolled in the program. The HCC Safety Committee, which oversees the program, wanted to offer formal recognition via the Safety Awards for those contractors who place safety as a high priority in their organization and have the results to prove it. The HCC/Pinnacol Safety Awards Program recognizes those companies that excel beyond OSHA recordable incident rates and seeks to reward companies that have taken safety beyond traditional programs. Among the factors the analysis takes into account important safety program components including: management commitment, safety committee participation, investigation of incidents/near misses, employee involvement, work site auditing for unsafe acts and conditions, recognition of safe actions and recordable rates.

Rankings were based on surveys including total number of employees, relatives with the company, and revenue as compared to 2009.

LEI was recently named number fourteen (14) in the Denver Business Journal's publication of Minority Owned Area Business up from number seventeen (17) in 2009.

LEI was named No. 128 in Colorado Biz Magazine’s 2010 list of Top Private Owned Companies in Colorado. LEI moved up to No. 111 in Colorado Biz Magazine’s 2011 list of Top 250 Private Companies in Colorado. http://www.cobizmag.com/articles/top-250-private-companies-2011/

LEI named #61 fastest growing inner city firms in the U.S. selected by the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City.

ABC awards LEI the 2010 Step Safety Award for its ongoing achievment and ongoing efforts in the development of a quality safety program.

LEI was recently named number eight (8) in the Denver Business Journal's publication of Denver Electrical Contractors

During MEED Week 2009 LEI was named Construction Firm of the Year.

Denver Business Journal named LEI the 10th Fastest Growing Company in 2009

HCC Subcontractor Member of the Year 2009

In 2008 the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce awarded LEI the Minority Business of the Year Award. This was after being named a finalist in the two (2) previous years.

At the National IEC Convention in 2008, IEC awarded LEI with the CNA-IEC Oustanding Achievement in Safety. This national award was based on LEI's overall safety program and impecable safety performance since it's inception.

LEI was awarded the Top Company Award in Real Estate and Construction in 2008 by ColoradoBiz Magazine

Independent Electrical Contractors awarded LEI its Summit Award Low Voltage Category for the Denver News Paper Agency Fire Alarm Installation
