The Hotel and Hospitality Learning Center (HLC) at Metro State will offer the Denver community two assets: a fully functioning flagged hotel and a learning laboratory for students. Located in the heart of Denver, the HLC is expected to include an estimated 150 rooms, conference facilities and more than 21,000 square feet of academic space, including classrooms, specialty learning labs and faculty offices. The hotel will be run by the professional hotel management firm, Sage Hospitality, and will provide hands-on training opportunities for students in Metro State’s Hospitality, Tourism and Events department. LEI is the design build electrical contractor for this six (6) story Marriot Springhill Suites. The hotel is featuring a new room layout for the guests, which may become the new Springhill Suite layout going forward. Additionally, LEI is looking to incorporate a state of the art Energy Management System in the hotel, which will provide energy efficiency, guest comfort and overall energy cost reduction. The HLC is scheduled to be completed in 2012.
