LEI was contracted to perform a multi-million dollar Fire Alarm expansion/renovation at the Colorado Convention Center for an additional 292,000 sq. ft. of new exhibit space, 35,000 sq. ft of new meeting space, a new 50,000 sq. ft. ballroom, a 5,000 fixed seat lecture hall and a new 1,000 space parking garage. This new expanded space totaled 792,000 sq. ft.
LEI was the design-assist contractor for the fire alarm system for over two years. LEI managed a crew averaging 10-15 electricians to complete the project. Working in cooperation with Ludvik Electric, Hensel Phelps Construction, The Denver Fire Department, SMG and APi Systems Group, LEI took an extremely complex project with a very aggressive schedule and broke it down into smaller manageable components to produce a high quality installation. Due to the nature of Fire Alarm Systems, LEI was required to interface with many different systems to include Smoke Control, Security and Electrical Power, which made the installation technically complex and unique.
Over the course of the project LEI faced many challenges such as, design, schedule and budget changes. However, LEI approached these challenges head on with a solution oriented mentality, which resulted in a successful, high profile project that never compromised the integrity of the design. LEI provided the prefect blend of steadfast project management and seamless integration with the ongoing design and construction changes that ultimately gave the client a state of the art facility.
