The Public Information Department on large governement projects provides information about a project to the media, the public, stakeholders and elected officials. This group is responsible for planning, designing, writing and editing news releases, newsletters, informational articles, pamphlets and brochures and coordinating and conducting press conferences, public meetings and special events. This department also serves as the communications coordinator or media spokesperson for a project.
